Paulse: Practice makes perfect

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town veteran striker Nathan Paulse admits that he spends plenty of his time practicing how to take penalties which is why he has converted each and every spot kick this season.

Paulse was once again on target from a penalty spot in their recent draw against Bloemfontein Celtic in an Absa Premiership clash at the Cape Town Stadium.

The former SuperSport United forward hinted that he always try by all means to remain calm before stepping up to the penalty spot and it is working in his favour so far.

“I always practice how to take penalties every day, especially after our training sessions,” said Paulse.

“I just have to stay calm before I step up during the game so I could be able to convert it.

“I just stand there and pick up the spot I want to place the ball at because at the end of the day I don’t want to fault myself for missing a golden opportunity.

“So in this case, practice makes perfect.”

Despite grabbing a last minute equaliser against Celtic to secure a point, the Mother City born goal poacher says that he was disappointed with a draw as his team-mates failed to make use of their home ground advantage.

“No, I wasn’t happy with a point collected on Friday," said the veteran forward.

“It was our home game and we can’t accept a draw playing at home.

“But instead, we should have took advantage of our home ground and grab all three points. But we lost two vital points at home, which is not good.”
