Patosi's message to CT City ahead of Chiefs clash

Cape Town - Former Cape Town City winger Ayanda Patosi believes the Citizens can defeat Kaizer Chiefs in Sunday's Nedbank Cup quarterfinal at Mbombela Stadium.

Patosi now plays his football for Esteghlal in Iran after signing for the Persian Gulf Pro League outfit in January.

The talented forward was a hit for the Citizens during his time in the Mother City as he scored 10 goals in all competitions and provided numerous assists as well.

The 26-year-old played a role in the Nedbank Cup run in 2018/19 as he played in the 2-0 victory over SuperSport United at the start of the tournament.

City are gunning for potentially a treble in the current campaign as they are still alive in the title race and secured the MTN8 crown at the beginning of the season.

Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Patosi said: "The game will be tough for sure as Chiefs is not an easy team to beat away. But I have faith in City and the team they have.

"At City there are no stars, everyone works for each other and they are a good group with a good technical team.

"So, they (City) have a big chance to win the game and go all the way to win another trophy. All the best to the guys and I'm sure they will make Cape Town proud."

Sunday's action is set to get underway from 18:00 in Nelspruit.
