Cape Town - Cape Town City chairperson John Comitis says the club are trying to land Ayanda Patosi a deal in Europe for a fee in the region of R15 million.
Patosi spent the second half of the season with Iranian side Esteghlal FC on a R5 million loan deal where he impressed but won't be signing on a permanent basis.
The side opted against exercising their option to purchase the 26-year-old who has since returned to Cape Town.
Comitis told KickOff: "I have one offer that I'm considering from a club in the Middle East, and there's another two clubs that have sent us proposals but we’re waiting to see.
"Patosi still wants to play overseas. We have to work on it. If all fails, he's still got two years with us and we'd love to have him.
"I think he would make a big different to our team, but at this stage we are working closely to assist him to stay overseas.
"No. We're not even considering anything local, he's not interested.
"In this team, when we scout players, our first priority is to promote them to overseas, you know. This one [Patosi deal] will be 1-million-dollars-plus."
