Cape Town - Cape Town City midfielder Ayanda Patosi has agreed to join United Arab Emirates side Baniyas Club on a one-year loan deal.
Patosi has been continuously linked with a move to Europe during the off-season, with City chairman John Comitis setting an asking price of R15 million for the Khayelitsha-born playmaker.
The 26-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Iranian club Esteghlal, where he netted four goals in 13 appearances. It has now been confirmed that he will join Baniyas on a R5 million loan deal.
"Cape Town City and @BaniyasClub have reached an agreement for midfielder @AyandaPatosi. The deal will see Ayanda spend the season on loan in the UAE Pro League, with an option to buy at a further fixed amount.
"We wish Pato well as he continues to dominate outside SA borders," read a statement on City's official Twitter account.
