Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs forward Bernard Parker says the club's new signings have been made to understand that winning trophies is a top priority in 2019/20.
Chiefs have not won silverware since Stuart Baxter was last in charge in 2015 and are desperately trying to return to winning ways.
The Glamour Boys have signed Kearyn Baccus, Samir Nurkovic, James Kotei and Lazarous Kambole as they attempt to turn things around under coach Ernst Middendorp.
Speaking to reporters, Parker said: "Yes, definitely, they do understand. We've done a lot of work in this pre-season in terms of not only on the field but also getting to work a lot on the mental side of the game.
"The new players have said, yes, they do understand that for the past few years we haven't won anything, and they're definitely here to add value and to win with the club.
"We as players, especially the senior guys, have also welcomed them open-heartedly and with open arms, explaining that we're receiving their quality and they need to come and help us.
"This is the reaction that we need to go out with and where we need to get, we need to do so as quickly as possible so we can get the club back to where it needs to be."
Amakhosi could win their first unofficial trophy of 2019/20 if they win the Carling Black Label Cup final on Saturday. The encounter takes place at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
