Palacios: Manyisa will come right

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Augusto Palacios has acknowledged that Oupa Manyisa is off-the-pace, but is adamant that the midfielder will come right with time following his recovery from a long-term injury.

The Mayfair-based outfit's captain sustained a serious ankle injury during the 2015/16 campaign which saw him being sidelined for a number of months. And following his return from injury, the 28-year-old has since failed to replicate his best form.

But Palacios, who kept a watchful eye on Manyisa during his tenure as the club's head of development, is adamant that the Bafana Bafana international just needs time.

"He’s trying and he’s trying. You can see the effort he makes, it was big operation, a long recovery and he needs time," he told KickOff.

"But, while he’s hungry to play, he’s running and marking and he understands.

"At least we're giving him the opportunity to play but there’s still a lot of recovery from anterior operation," he concluded.
