Cape Town - Zesco United defender David 'Calabar' Owino says he holds no fear for Mamelodi Sundowns' lethal goal-scorer, Khama Billiat.
The two southern African clubs are set to square up to each other in two weeks’ time, when Zesco host Sundowns in the first leg of the 2016 CAF Champions League semi-finals.
Zimbabwe international Billiat has been in breathtaking form for Sundowns over the last couple of years, the 2015/16 PSL Player of the Season playing a massive part in his side winning the league title last season as well as in assisting significantly in Downs' continental success.
Extremely quick, with great dribbling skills, strong on either foot, and becoming more clinical in front of goal by the month, Billiat at times seems unstoppable.
But Kenya international and Zesco defender Owino is adamant he can help stop Sundowns’ talisman when they square up at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on 18 September.
"I know he is good, but I’m equally good," he was quoted as saying on the Capital FM website.
"It has been a tough journey but nothing good comes easy," he said of Zesco's historical run in Africa's premier club competition.
"We have faced tough opponents but our hard work has seen us get here. I think what has been our biggest strength so far is our fitness levels because we can endure a tough match with the same energy from the first to the last minute," Owino explained.
"We can go on and make history. I believe we have what it takes to go all the way to the final. It’s just a matter of belief and working hard over the next 180 minutes against Sundowns," he added.
