Out-of-form Maboe says 'fatigue' got the best of him

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns forward Lebohang Maboe has revealed that fatigue has been the reason for his poor start to the season.

Maboe last featured for the Brazilians in a goalless draw with Baroka earlier this month.

Maboe has failed to replicate the form that saw him finish as the Brazilians' top scorer in the Absa Premiership last campaign and force his way into the Bafana Bafana reckoning.

And the 25-year-old put his dip in the form down to fatigue and says he is working harder than ever to become a part of Pitso Mosimane's plans once again.

"It was fatigue," Maboe said as quoted by KickOff website.

"I was out for one or two weeks and I went to do the tests.

"Yeah, it was fatigue. So, now I am working on my game.

"I am working on coming back to the team and doing what I can do best for the team."

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Sundowns secured their place in the Telkom Knockout final after beating Golden Arrows.

The Brazilians will meet Maritzburg United in the final on December 14.
