Cape Town - Denis Onyango admits he's been impressed with Golden Arrows goalkeeper Maximillan Mbaeva after their 0-0 draw against Premiership leaders Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday evening.
The Brazilians failed to score for the first time in seven fixtures after a spectacular individual display of goalkeeping by Mbaeva.
The 26-year old has been impressive form all season for Abafana Bes'thende as they occupy eighth position in the standings, and was duly awarded man of the match at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Onyango conceded that the result was fair due to the Namibian international's heroics, and urged him to sustain the good form his shown since joining the newly promoted Premiership outfit.
"I have seen him [Mbaeva] the whole season; he is a fantastic goalkeeper," Onyango said after the 0-0 result.
"The captain's armband also boosts him as keeper, and gives him confidence when he is playing. It's good that he is coming up as goalkeeper and he helps the team.
"He has been man of the match a couple times already, and I am happy for him and I hope he keeps consistent until the end of the season."
Mbaeva has become a integral part of Clinton Larsen's side since his move from African Stars, keeping five clean sheets in his 14 appearances this season.
