Onyango: I know how strong Hunt is

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango has declared his respect for Bidvest Wits coach, Gavin Hunt, as the Premiership title races hots up.

Wits enjoy a three point lead over Sundowns although the Brazilians have a much better goal difference, meaning if the Clever Boys slip up - Downs could steal in to the win the title.

Masandawana face Baroka at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday night knowing they will have to get all three points to stay in contention. Meanwhile, Wits have a tricky away tie against Free State Stars.

Onyango told reporters: "In football you never know where you are going to drop points and Baroka will not be easy to beat.

"We know that Wits struggle when they go to Free State Stars and we hope that we get a positive result against Baroka.

"We know their coach Gavin (Hunt) is experienced when it comes to keeping the position at the top of the log. I've worked with him before and I know how strong he is. It's in Wits' hands."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
