Cape Town - Cape Town City striker Victor Obinna is in doubt to feature against Absa Premiership leaders Baroka FC on Wednesday, November 22 after the international break.
The Nigeria international injured his hamstring in City's 1-0 win over Free State Stars a week ago, a result which took them to within two points of Bakgaga at the top of the league table.
The initial prognosis was a three-week absence, which means Obinna, who has become a regular in the team of late, is facing a race to get fit for the match.
"It's frustrating when you see someone work so hard and put in massive effort to be there. Then something silly where he sprinted off and felt it (the hamstring)‚ then felt it again later," City coach Benni McCarthy was quoted saying by the TimesLIVE website.
McCarthy is, however, optimistic about a return for long-term injury victim Aubrey Ngoma, who has not played yet this season after registering eight goals in 17 assists last term.
"When we come back from the break‚ don't be shocked if you see Aubrey in the mix. He is looking good and has his hunger back," said the former Bafana Bafana star.
