Cape Town - Baroka FC head coach Wedson Nyirenda lamented his team's inability to take their chances as they fell to a controversial 1-0 defeat against Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.
Nyirenda saw his side dominate the league leaders for large periods of the game but somehow failed to put the ball in the back of the net with a combination of poor finishing and good goalkeeping.
The Bakgaga mentor then saw his team concede what appeared to be a clear offside goal that ended up being the difference between the sides.
Nyirenda told SuperSport TV after the game: "Congratulations to Kaizer Chiefs. They got one chance and took it. We had five in the first half and did not take them.
"So a team like Chiefs you miss chances like that in the first half then you'll keep them in the game.
"That's why I'm saying it wasn't our day because we did all we could but it wasn't coming.
"We broke the lines, went one-on-one with the goalkeeper two or three times but we could not put the ball behind and that's how football is.
"I think I have no complaints the boys accounted for themselves very well. We took the game to Kaizer Chiefs and I think it just wasn't our day."
