Cape Town - Orlando Pirates midfielder Musa Nyatama believes Thembinkosi Lorch deserves the PSL Player of the Season gong for his performances in 2018/19.
Lorch has been in some irresistible form in the current campaign and has managed a creditable six goals and five assists in the Premiership.
His 11 goal contributions account for over a quarter of Pirates' 39 goals this season.
As such, Nyatama is backing his talented 25-year-old team-mate to land the prestigious prize.
The Player of the Season in South Africa collects a trophy as well as a handsome R250 000 in prize money.
With that said, other contenders for the award are likely to be Mamelodi Sundowns' Hlompho Kekana, Themba Zwane, Lebohang Maboe and Denis Onyango.
In addition, Black Leopards' Mwape Musonda, Bidvest Wits' Deon Hotto as well as SuperSport United's Aubrey Modiba are also in contention.
Nyatama said: "I feel like Thembinkosi Lorch has done well for himself and the team as well, he's been great.
"I don't see any other player winning [Player of the Season] other than him, because he's been scoring goals for us and assisting.
"He's also been getting man of the match awards consistently, so I think he really deserves to win both the Footballer and Player's Player of the Season awards."
