Nxumalo still AWOL, says Ertugral

Cape Town - Despite opening the door for Prince Nxumalo to return to Ajax Cape Town, the striker remains absent without leave says coach Muhsin Ertugral

Nxumalo had gone missing under the watch of previous Ajax coach Stanley Menzo and last played in November.

On his arrival at Ikamva, Ertugral implied that he would be happy to give the player a fresh start if he showed the right attitude and returned to training.

But that has not transpired, and with the January transfer window now over, Nxumalo's future remains very much in doubt.

"Our chairman had a meeting with him," Ertugral told KickOff. "From my side, he just needs to come and speak to me. I'm waiting, until today. Suddenly he was gone.

"I came in as the new coach, but I have not seen him. I don't know, we have not done anything wrong, so I think he should come and see me. But I don't know where he is.

"The chairman is still paying his wages," he added.

With Tashrique Morris as well as new signings Yannick Zakri, Tendai Ndoro, Samuel Julies and Fagrie Lakay all fighting for places up front, it would not be easy for the 27-year-old Nxumalo to force his way back into the team.
