Ntuli: We are treating every game like a Cup final

Bongi Ntuli says that AmaZulu will be "playing every game like a cup final" as they look to pull themselves out of the relegation zone.

The 1-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday at FNB Stadium would have given the KwaZulu-Natal based side a massive boost in their survival hopes.

While that result lifted them off the bottom of the table, Usuthu are by no means out of the woods yet as they still occupy the relegation playoff spot.

And with just six games to go, Ntuli has urged his teammates to treat every game as the most important match they have ever played as they look to avoid the ignominious drop.

Ntuli scored the winner in the win over the Amakhosi, which means has now scored 12 of AmaZulu's 14 Absa Premiership goals this season.

And while the burly forward admits that winning the top goalscorer award would be a nice bonus, his focus is on helping the club secure their safety.

"For now, my main concern is the team. We are not in a good position and every game we will be playing will be like a cup final," Ntuli told Goal website.

"I want to help the team out of there, and you know the remaining games won’t be easy. We need to win as many games as we can to avoid relegation."

Ntuli is two goals behind Orlando Pirates' Gabadinho Mhango in the race for the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot award and tied in second place level on strikes with SuperSport United' Bradley Grobler and Highlands Park's Peter Shalulile.

Usuthu's next assignment is against Baroka FC on March 21 where Ntuli will be looking to add to his tally once again.
