Ntshangase and Lakay set to be involved in swap deal

Cape Town - SuperSport United and Wits are reportedly in talks about a deal that could see Fagrie Lakay move to the Clever Boys while Phumlani Ntshangase goes to Matsatsantsa.

According to KickOff website, the Clever Boys are trying to bring in Lakay in January rather than at the end of his current contract in June.

Meanwhile, Ntshangase, who is loan at Matsatsantsa, appears set to make a permanent switch to Pretoria.

The Students have been active in the transfer market in recent times having signed Brandon Petersen, Prince Nxumalo, Sinethemba Jantjie and Phathutshedzo Nange on pre-contracts.

It seems Lakay does not believe his long-term future resides with SuperSport and this further suggests that a deal is likely to happen this month rather than at the end of the season.

Speaking to the same publication, the 21-year-old said: "You guys know better than I do. You should be telling me. Yes, the teams [SuperSport and Wits] are talking."

The Cape Town-born forward was not in SSU's line-up that beat Bloemfontein Celtic in last Sunday's Premiership clash at Lucas Moripe Stadium in South Africa's administrative capital.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
