Nthethe wants CAF glory

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns defender Thabo Nthethe has expressed his desire make history in continental football with the club this season.

The Brazilians will have a 1-0 deficit to make up in the second leg of the CAF Champions League second round at home against AS Vita on April 20.

Nthethe has tasted success with Sundowns in the Premiership and Nedbank Cup, and has now set his sights on continental glory.

"I really want to lift that trophy and put a star on the jersey," Nthethe told KickOff.

"Truth be told, it is all about creating history and after your career the question will be, 'What did you do when you were still playing?'. I want to be part of the history that the team of 2016 would create by winning the Champions League.

"The Orlando Pirates class of 1995 will never be forgotten. I want to do the same and the other players share the same desire."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
