Cape Town - Chippa United defender Thabo Nthethe insists his relationship with former coach Pitso Mosimane at Mamelodi Sundowns was healthy, despite a lack of game-time.
Nthethe recently left the Brazilians to join Chippa after having spent four seasons of success at Chloorkop.
The centre-back arrived at Sundowns in 2014 from Bloemfontein Celtic, and in 2016 was famously a part of the side which won the CAF Champions League.
Nonetheless, in 2017/18 the 33-year-old fell out of favour as he appeared just twice in all competitions for the Premiership champions.
However, he says there is no bad blood and he is focused on doing well for his new club in Port Elizabeth.
Speaking to Kickoff, he said: "The relationship (with the coach) was good, it's just the game-time. But all in all everything was good.
"He is one of the best and I was quite excited with the way he was managing the team. I am very grateful for the chance I got at Sundowns.
"I am going to work very hard because I believe it's not going to be easy. The team was doing well this past season and the season before that.
"With the experience I got, I will do my best and try to guide the youngsters. I am going to apply myself to the team."
