Cape Town - New Orlando Pirates signing Riyaad Norodien hopes to make a dream debut against Kaizer Chiefs on July 31 in the annual Carling Black Label Cup.
Norodien, who together with Abbubaker Mobara were signed by the Buccaneers from Ajax Cape Town, will look to make an impression for new Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral when his side takes on Amakhosi in the first Soweto derby of the season at the FNB Stadium.
"Firstly I need to say that this will be a dream come true playing in a Soweto derby in front of packed crowd," the 21-year-old midfielder told KickOff.
"Have faith in me by voting for me to be a part of this great spectacle of a Soweto derby. I've watched it on the TV and even then I could feel that it's a special event with lots of emotions - I want to share this with my new fans.
"I will give my all for the club if I get the opportunity and try not to disappoint. What's the point I've signed for such a big club and not given the opportunity? I can assure the fans that everything will be okay should I be given the chance.
"I also need to say that I come with an open mind and I'm here to embrace the culture."
