No deal for ex-Orlando Pirates star with Chippa

Cape Town - Former Orlando Pirates star Sifiso Myeni has failed to win a deal with Chippa United having spent a recent trial period with the outfit from Port Elizabeth.

The ex-Pirates and Wits attacking midfielder spent time training with the Chilli Boys last week, as he looks to revive his once fairly distinguished Premiership career.

The 30-year-old has been without a club in 2018/19 since parting ways with the Clever Boys at the end of last season.

A source told Soccer Laduma website: "Myeni is no longer training with Chippa. He has gone back to Gauteng and won't be signing with the club."

Meanwhile, Chippa's Chief Operations Officer Lukhanyo Mzinzi confirmed to the same publication that the player left the side for undisclosed family reasons.

"There was a family issue that came up for the player and he had to leave. He is no longer here with the team."

Chippa have made number of major changes in January and it appears to be bearing fruit as the team picked up a much needed 2-0 victory over Maritzburg United last weekend.

The outfit from PE are now preparing for a much-anticipated Nedbank Cup last-32 tie with Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in the Windy City.
