Niang agent rejects Pirates rumours

Cape Town - The agent of Mamelodi Sundowns striker Mame Niang has rejected suggestions that his client could join Orlando Pirates at the end of the current campaign.

The 31-year-old is currently on loan at National First Division side AmaZulu, and will become a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the 2015/16 season.

Niang's agent, Steve Kapeluschnik, insists he has not spoken to anyone at Pirates over a potential move to the Soweto giants.

"No, you know we haven't spoken to Pirates so I don't know where this story comes from because I have not spoken to anybody at Pirates," Kapeluschnik told Goal website.

"It's far too early to predict the future at the moment. He just wanted to go to AmaZulu, you know.

"He wasn't getting much game-time at Sundowns so he went to Cyprus where played (regularly), but the club had financial difficulties.

"So, really it is just about him getting some game-time and playing a bit and then at the end of the season we will sit down and decide where we go from there."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
