Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed the signing of Anele Ngcongca on a reported three-year deal, said to be worth over R5m-a-year.
According to the club's official website, Sundowns revealed that the defender is part of Pitso Mosimane's plans to build a team capable of competing in multiple competitions.
Kaizer Chiefs were said to have had an interest in signing Ngcongca, but it was Pitso Mosimane's side who ultimately clinched his signature.
The Bafana Bafana international has spent most of his career in Europe, playing for Racing Genk, but was seeking a move away after falling out of favour at the club.
The versatile defender joins Yannick Zakri, Sibusiso Vilakazi, Lucky Mohomi, Thapelo Morena and Ricardo Nascimento as some of the signings made by 'Downs during the transfer window.
The Brazilians were seeking to add strength to their defence after the departure of Ramahlwe Mphahlele to Kaizer Chiefs.
