New PSL season set for midweek kick-off

Cape Town - The 2016/17 Absa Premiership season is scheduled for a midweek kick-off days after the Rio Olympic Games football comes to an end.

The League has decided to delay the start of the PSL until Tuesday, August 23.

According to KickOff, several PSL and NFD players are set to be selected for South Africa under-23 squad side to take part in Brazil.

The Olympics will be staged from the 5 to 21 August however Amaglug-glug will play their first game on Thursday, August 4. 

Meanwhile, the PSL general manager Derek Blanckansee confirmed that the fixture draw will take place in the coming weeks as fans around South Africa await who will face who in the opening weekend of Absa Premiership.
