Ndoro targets League and Cup double

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates striker Tendai Ndoro wants to help his club celebrate its 80th birthday by winning both the PSL and the Nedbank Cup.

Pirates are in 10th position on the league standings but only seven points behind leaders SuperSport United.

However, the Buccaneers have two games in hand with the log table still looking tight.

The Sea Robbers will meanwhile face South African footballing minnows EC Bees, a third-tier side, in the Nedbank Cup round of 32.

Ndoro, who has blazed 11 league goals in 13 matches this season, admits the competition will be stiff, but is optimistic that his side can end the season with two trophies in the bag to mark the club's eighth decade since formation in 1937.

"In football, whether Pirates or another team, every team wants to put something in the cabinet. As a big team, we celebrate our 80th anniversary this year and we must celebrate and hopefully win the Nedbank Cup and the league," he told the media.

"The important thing we win games as a team. We have got the league and Nedbank Cup to play for, that's what we want now.

"As an individual I can't do it alone, I play with other players, it's about teamwork, not only me."

Bucs' first three matches after the break see them facing Platinum Stars (8 February) and Mamelodi Sundowns (11 February) away, and then Bidvest Wits at home on 15 February.
