Ndoro cleared by PSL to face Pirates

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town has announced that Tendai Ndoro has been cleared by the PSL to face former side Orlando Pirates after a dispute over his eligibility.

The match is scheduled for Wednesday, January 31 at 19:30.

The club in a statement said: The PSL Dispute Resolution Chamber has ruled in favour of Ajax Cape Town and Tendai Ndoro. The Zimbabwe international has been declared eligible for selection.

Before joining the Urban Warriors, Ndoro had played some minutes for Pirates but later left to sign for Al-Faisaly. However, after a short stay in Saudi Arabia he then returned to the Premiership to join up with coach Muhsin Ertugral at Ajax.

FIFA rules dictate that while a player can be registered for three clubs in one campaign, the individual can only play for two sides. In 2017/18 the 32-year-old forward has seemingly contravened the governing bodies laws.

According to Soccer Laduma, the rules state: "Players may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during one season. During this period, the player is only eligible to play official matches for two clubs.

"As an exception to this rule, a player moving between two clubs belonging to associations with overlapping seasons (i.e. start of the season in summer/autumn as opposed to winter/spring) may be eligible to play in official matches for a third club during the relevant season, provided he has fully complied with his contractual obligations towards his previous clubs."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
