Cape Town - Following a poor start to the Premiership season where Roger de Sa stepped down at Ajax Cape Town, playmaker Bantu Mzwakali says the team needs to take responsibility.
After failing to record a single win after nine league games and collecting only two points, the Cape outfit decided to make a change in management at Ikamva, with Stanley Menzo appointed as new head coach last Friday.
However, Ajax's poor start to the campaign was extended at the weekend when assistant coach Mich d'Avray oversaw a 2-0 defeat to Supersport United.
Mzwakali reiterated the concerns of his former manager de Sa, who claimed the performances were up to scratch but their woeful finishing let them down every week.
"I think we tried our best especially in the final third, we just failed to use our chances," the academy graduate said after the game.
"We are not going to give up, we will keep on pushing and we know that something will come up.
"As football players we should take responsibility, each and everyone needs to step up for the team. If we are all able to do that then it will all be okay."
Goble Park is where Ajax Cape Town will play next as they face Free State Stars in an Absa Premiership encounter.
Kick-off is at 19:30.
