Johannesburg - Bidvest Wits winger Sifiso Myeni is hoping the club can end a six-year trophy drought when they take on Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 final on Saturday.
Myeni played an influential role when Wits clinched the Nedbank Cup title in 2010 with a 3-1 win over AmaZulu in the final.
The Clever Boys finished second in the Premiership last season, losing out on the title to Sundowns and Myeni is hoping to return the favour in the MTN8 this weekend.
"This is a completely new club that I have come back to. The only people that are the same are the ladies who cook," he said on the club's website.
"We have a really good squad and everyone works hard for one another. The last time the club has won anything was the Nedbank Cup in 2010 and I was a part of the team back then and I am excited to be a part of the MTN8 final now.
"It's all about us and how hard we work to play. Beating Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates is in the past. We worked hard in all our previous matches and that is what we have to do on Saturday."
