Myeni: SuperSport with home comforts

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates midfielder Sfiso Myeni insists SuperSport United will benefit from their home-ground advantage when the two teams clash in the Nedbank Cup finals later this month.

The Buccaneers beat Free State Stars 4-2 in a thrilling semi-final clash on Saturday afternoon, while Matsatsantsa eased past confident Baroka FC to reach the finals of the Ke Yona competition, set to take place at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on May 28.

"Obviously we are playing away. Peter Mokaba is SuperSport's home game," Myeni said.

"When we play them they take us there so it is like their home game. But it gives us motivation.

We knew after our game against Free State Stars, and each and every player in the team was surprised about the final going there.

"But other than that, it is not us, it is the sponsors. So we told ourselves that either way, whether SuperSport or Baroka FC, they both use the stadium. Now we just have to make sure we clinch the cup at the end of the day."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
