Cape Town - Golden Arrows climbed back into the Premiership top eight thanks to a slender 1-0 win over Platinum Stars at the Chatsworth Stadium on Sunday.
The first 45 minutes were a balanced affair with two noteworthy chances at either end.
Midway through the half, Kudakwashe Mahachi's creative free-kick - looped instead of powered - sailed agonisingly wide.
Then before the half-hour mark Tlou Segolela squandered a glorious chance to break the deadlock.
Sibusiso Msomi cut the Arrows defence to shreds with his pass through the middle, with Tintswalo Tshabalala's effort parred by goalkeeper Maximillian Mbaeva into the path of the former Orlando Pirates man, who wastefully shot over from six yards out.
It was goalless at the break and after the restart, Rodney Ramagalela was just as wasteful as Segolela when Mahachi escaped from Ryan de Jongh on the left and laid the ball onto the plate for his team-mate to finish. The ball ballooned over the top.
Chris Katjiukua then headed over for Arrows, before Segolela shot on target, but failed to beat Mbaeva.
Deon Hotto was next to hang his head in embarrassment after he planted a free header over.
Namibian Mbaeva then made a great save at the feet of Bonginkosi Ntuli, before the goal finally arrived when Mwape Musonda placed the ball cleverly into the left corner following a fine flicked pass by Mhango.
