Mushin explains Mbseuma absence

Cape Town - Mushin Ertugral has revealed that he left out the Premiership's leading marksman Collins Mbesuma for their win against Maritzburg United as he needed a rest.

The Zambia international was a surprise exclusion from the squad against the Team of Choice but the decision could pay dividends for the former Kazier Chiefs boss as they have one eye on next Friday's Nedbank Cup quarter-final with SuperSport United.

"He needs to relax a bit. Collins had played two international games and immediately the next game for us and the Chiefs game, so he was a bit tired," Ertugral said after the game.

"We have a very important game for us and we want to achieve the semi-finals... we are not running around the bush.

"If we achieve it, it will be a different story. So it was an important time for him."

Mbesuma has impressed for Amazayoni this season and currently leads the Premiership scoring charts with 13 goals.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
