Mphela goes missing at Royal Eagles

Cape Town - According to reports, former Bafana Bafana marksman Katlego Mphela has not reported for duty at Royal Eagles for the past two weeks.

Mphela was last seen on the field of play during his side's 3-1 win over FC Cape Town at Harry Gwala Stadium on 9 January, where he was substituted early in the second half.

It is believed, the striker was unhappy with his substitution by coach Khabo Zondo and was seen kicking and screaming in frustration.

His absence has cost Eagles dearly, as the Maritzburg-based team was held to a goalless draw at home to Mbombela United on Sunday.

Killer, as he's affectionately known in football circles, has scored four goals for Eagles since making the switch from Kaizer Chiefs.

Royal Eagles are currently placed seventh in the NFD standings with 26 points from 16 games.
