Cape Town - Former Orlando Pirates ball wizard Steve 'Chippa' Lekoelea feels that Gift Motupa may need another season with Baroka before returning to the Bucaneers.
The 23-year-old Motupa signed for the Sea Robbers from Baroka FC ahead of the 2015/ 16 campaign, but was this season loaned back to the Limpopo team.
He has gone on the shine for Bakgaga, having netted nine league goals, making him the third highest scorer in the league.
And while Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic and the technical team will have their own views on Motupa, Lekoelea is of the opinion that the player could do with another season out of the limelight before making his return.
"I think they must let Motupa stay with Baroka because there is a lot of pressure at Pirates," the former Bucs winger told KickOff website.
"He seems free at Baroka because there is no pressure.
"They must let him play for another season at Baroka because Pirates is a big team and they will not only welcome Motupa at the end of the season, they will also sign other players.
"Let's say they happen to sign someone who is good for next season, does that mean Motupa will have to be benched?
"Because at the end he will end up sitting in the stands. I'm telling you and we will forget about him, whereas at Baroka we see him," Lekoelea added.
