Motshwari: We’re going there to collect 3 points against Sundowns

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates midfielder Ben Motshwari says the club are focused on picking up the victory ahead of Monday's top-of-the-table clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Some have labelled the encounter at Orlando Stadium as a potential title-decider given that a win for the Brazilians could extend their advantage to six points over Bucs.

Currently, Sundowns lead the Premiership on 43 points while Pirates are in third on 40 points.

Meanwhile, Bidvest Wits are in second on 41 points though they have played an extra game in South Africa's top flight.

The game was originally scheduled to be played on April 27 however it was brought forward to be played on April Fools' Day instead.

Nonetheless, Motshwari takes the view that the tie won't decide the league race as there are plenty of games remaining for both sides.

He told reporters: "I honestly feel like the game on Monday is not a title decider, because there are still games to play after that.

"And for us as Orlando Pirates, we're not going into the match as if it's a title decider, we're just going there to collect three points.

"We'll then turn our focus to the next match, and then the next match after the next match, so for us it's not a title-decider."

Kick-off is at 19:30.
