Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung has rallied the team to put the previous campaign behind them and come back better next season.
Amakhosi completed a difficult season after finishing fifth in the Absa Premiership and losing in the final of both the MTN8 and Telkom Knockout.
Speaking at the club's end of season awards, Motaung urged the players to uphold the prestigious club name and win back the faith of the fans.
"The awards for me is to reflect on the work that we put together. Even if we did not win anything, we can succeed from our failures, we will reflect on this season," Motaung said at the club's end-of-season awards ceremony.
"I'll give credit where it's due and say that Sundowns deserved to win the league, the way they played. Congratulations to Sundowns for winning the league, but they must know we're coming for them next season."
The local football icon also bid farewell to the departing duo of Reneilwe Letsolonyane and Reeyad Pieterse, who are expected to join SuperSport United.
"We say goodbye to some players tonight, thank you Letsholonyane and Pieterse. Thank you to all the supporters for their support through thick and thin. We are going to take a rest and recharge our batteries."
