Mosimane: We played proper football

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane lauded his team for playing "proper football" as they thrashed AmaZulu on Sunday to advance to the next round of the Telkom Knockout.

Masandawana were in a rampant mood at the Lucas Moripe Stadium as they put five goals past Usuthu with Gaston Sirino netting a brace.

Mosimane praised his troops, not for the number of goals they scored but for the way they dominated their opponents in sweltering conditions.

The Sundowns mentor told SuperSport TV: "A good result, we played proper football and sometimes it's not about the 5-0, sometimes you can score 2-0 but as long as you play proper football.

"From the beginning, we got our triangles right, we got our passing patterns right and we looked better.

"I was worried about the weather and that’s why I told them to slow down the tempo a little bit."
