Mosimane takes aim at PSL prosecutor after delay in Sirino case

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane has taken aim at PSL prosecutor Nande Becker for the delay in the case against his midfielder Gaston Sirino.

The PSL announced on 20 February that Sirino had been found guilty for assaulting SuperSport United duo of Clayton Daniels and Dean Furman during an MTN8 clash earlier this season.

However, the player has not yet been sanctioned and with only nine league matches to be played it is possible that Sundowns could be without the Uruguayan midfielder for the remainder of the season, when it resumes.

Mosimane though feels his team have enough firepower to win trophies without Sirino as the Tshwane club chase a domestic treble.

Speaking to reporters after beating Highlands in the Nedbank Cup on Saturday, Mosimane said: "We might not have Sirino. You know when these things come, last four games then it comes.

"Why is it not happening early? It's waiting, it's there. You will see it. It will come.

"Well I don't know what Nande Becker [PSL prosecutor] wants to do. That guy I don't know.

"I don't want to be in trouble. Let's leave it to Nande. Let Masandawana focus. I still believe that even if Sirino is not there, we might do something."

PSL chairperson Irvin Khoza announced on Monday that the league has been suspended temporarily due the coronavirus outbreak.
