Mosimane: Jali getting back to his best

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has claimed that midfielder Andile Jali, who was signed in the off-season, is beginning to rediscover his best form.

Jali endured a slow start to life in Sundowns colours, having joined after leaving KV Oostende in April.

However, he appears to finally be hitting his stride and put in a Man of the Match-winning performance in Saturday's 1-0 win over Chippa United in Mdantsane.

When asked about his second-half substitutions, Mosimane told SuperSport: "I needed fresh legs. I needed [Tiyani] Mabunda to come and help Andile and [Hlompho] Kekana in the midfield. Andile Jali showed great leadership, he is slowly getting to his level.

"Lebo [Lebohang Maboe] was losing balls on the sides. He was looking good, but not really convincing. Not biting.

"Very difficult game but at the end of the day we came to [Mdantsane] and got three points.

"The first 20 minutes, the quality was there. But Sundowns, they are good people. They are not shrewd [ruthless]. We should have wrapped it up in the first half. We had clear chances."

The victory moved Masandawana up to fourth on the Premiership table, six points behind leaders Wits with two games in hand.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
