Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is confident that his side can defend their Premiership title and says he is not focused on other teams in the league.
The Chloorkop based-outfit have endured a busy year due to their participation in the CAF Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup, which has resulted in the Brazilians having to play catch-up in the league.
Despite having a number of games in hand, the former Bafana Bafana mentor has revealed that he side is hitting the target he set at the start of the campaign.
Explaining the season targets he set for Sundowns, Mosimane told KickOff: "We have our target and we have our blocks and we group teams in five.
"For us to get 71 points last season, we didn't do well in the first block.
"This year in the first block we got three points more and in the second block we are still on par - we need one more game to win and then we are in fifth, ahead of our program.
"We don't look at what is going to happen at the top, we are going with the number of blocks of games we play and that is the process - the product will look after itself.
"If you start looking at the top and say 'how many other teams got points?', you are putting stress on yourself, because I can see some people put a bit of pressure and stress on themselves and they want to go away as quickly as possible - but you know how football is."
Sundowns occupy seventh position in the Premiership table and are six points behind SuperSport United, Bidvest Wits and Cape Town City, who are tied on 25 points.
