Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane dedicated his Absa Premiership Coach of the Season award to his captain, Hlompho Kekana.
Mosimane admitted that he was shocked that Kekana has been dominated for Premiership awards for five years in a row, but has never won an award.
Kekana was in contention for three awards during the Premiership end of the season function held on Tuesday night.
The Brazilians mentor said he felt Maritzburg United coach, Fadlu Davids, also deserved the award.
Mosimane said at the function: “For me is not to make a speech, but thank everybody that has contributed.
"Yeah, all the coaches I think Fadlu Davids has been highly tactical coach. He deserves it.
"As the chairperson has said, the local breed is coming very well. You can see up and coming coaches are coming up very well.
"But the last one to mention is my captain, Kekana; he has been nominated five years in a row. He has been here five years, all the time and in two years he has been nominated, but has never got it.
"Captain, this is for you. Thank you everybody."
