Mosimane backs Masuluke for Puskas award

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is hopeful Baroka goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke will gain international recognition for his wonder goal last season.

Masuluke scored a stoppage-time equaliser with an audacious overhead-kick from a corner, with his weaker foot, against Orlando Pirates.

While his goal wasn't rewarded by the South African Premiership fans for Goal of the Season, the 24-year-old has been nominated for the annual FIFA Puskas award.

And Mosimane is hopeful it's second time lucky for South Africans, after Brazilians captain Hlompho Kekana missed out on the prestigious prize last year.

"I wish Oscarine Masuluke all the best in the Puskas awards," he told his club's official website.

"Kekana didn't win it last year. We hope that he wins it."
