Moseamedi: De Reuck deserves recognition

Maritzburg United striker Judas Moseamedi has joined the calls for Rushine de Reuck to be rewarded for his dazzling defensive displays this season.

The 24-year-old has been excellent for the Team of Choice, helping the club to fifth place on the Premier Soccer League ahead of the enforced break as a result of the coronavirus.

De Reuck joined the side from Milano in 2017 and has ultimately become an integral part of Eric Tinkler's team.

He failed to secure a contract in Europe while on trial in Portugal and France but returned to South Africa unfazed.

And after a spell in the lower leagues, De Reuck signed for Maritzburg two seasons ago and hasn't looked back.

Reflecting on his team-mates' performances, Moseamedi said as quoted by FarPost: "Rushine de Reuck has stood tall in our defence, he has really been outstanding, and I'd pick him as our best player this season.

"He has been working very hard, there's a lot of important tackles he’s made for us. He deserves it."
