Morton wants to stay at SuperSport

Pretoria - With his current deal set to lapse at the end of the 2015/16 campaign, SuperSport United midfielder Michael Morton admits that he intends to stay with Matsatsantsa as he still has a lot to offer the club.

The former Maritzburg United man, however, has admitted that despite his contract coming to an end, he still has an option to extend his stay with a further one year.

The 27-year-old versatile player said he believes that he would be part of head coach, Stuart Baxter’s plans for the next season as he has featured in most of his club games since Baxter’s arrival in January.

“Since he joined the team I have been playing regularly for the team.” Insisted Morton

“I got a couple of games under my belt but it doesn’t mean that I am guaranteed a place in the team.

“Everyone in the team is still on trials at the moment and the coach might still decide otherwise at the end of the season so every game is sort of trials for me.

“But my contract is coming to an end at the end of the season but I still have an option to renew with a further one year.

“I intend to play every game and all training sessions trying to impress the coach.”
