Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town are eagerly awaiting the return of long-term injury victim Tashreeq Morris, who should be back in action in the next few weeks.
Morris was the Urban Warriors' top scorer in the 2014/15 campaign, but has not played since suffering a knee injury in the Nedbank Cup final loss to Mamelodi Sundowns in May last year.
Although the 21-year-old won't be available for the game against Bloemfontein Celtic on Friday night in Cape Town, he has been making good progress and could soon be available for selection.
"Tashreeq Morris is still not ready. He's looking sharp at training, but we still need his doctor's clearance," said Ajax head coach Roger De Sa.
"So hopefully he'll be able to go into full contact soon, and once he gets the clear, I think it'll be a week or two before we see him in the starting line-up."
De Sa adds that he believes the player has bulked up favorably and is looking forward to seeing the young marksman making an impact.
"He's looking good, and I think we will see a new 'Tassie' with about 5kg of muscle added to that athletic build of his, and we can't wait to see him back," he said.
