Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns legend Surprise Moriri says Absa Premiership big guns will have to dig deep in the new season to reach the level of the Brazilians.
Moriri has praised the winning mentality that coach Pitso Mosimane has instilled at the club, saying 'Jingles' demands his side to be the best at all times.
Mosimane led Sundowns to their 8th Premiership title this season and his third since taking over the reins at the Chloorkop outfit.
The Brazilians coach, who on Wednesday walked away with the PSL Coach of the Month award for April, is also the favourite to claim the Coach of the Season award.
Moriri told the SABC: “It’s been an amazing season for the team and I’m really happy for the players and everyone.
“Orlando Pirates did not make things easy for them. So it feels good for the team to have won it in the end.
“Because they say when you work hard you will be rewarded. I think especially for coach Pitso, as he has said before, winning the league should be standard.
“He is looking at the CAF champions League and to be there you need to win the league or come second, so for him its standard.
“Which means he has raised the bar for everyone to catch him if they can, but you see Pirates really worked hard this season to make things difficult for them.
“I’m impressed with the work that coach Rhulani Mokwena and ‘Micho’ (Milutin Sredojevic) are doing. it’s going to be very interesting next season.”
