Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs striker Ryan Moon says he admires Tottenham Hotspur hit-man Harry Kane and Barcelona's Luis Suarez for their goal-scoring exploits as he looks to break records with Amakhosi.
The 21-year-old forward has been in red-hot form for the Glamour Boys in recent matches having notched three goals in his last Absa Premiership four appearances.
Kane has hit 100 Premier League goals in 138 appearances for the Lilywhites, with 97 of them coming in the last four seasons. In addition, Suarez has 140 strikes in 178 matches for Barca.
As such, the young player says he hopes to emulate some of the best attackers in the world and continue scoring plenty of goals. He told Chiefs' official website: "I watch a lot of different strikers. Here at Kaizer Chiefs, I learn a lot from Bernard Parker, who regularly talks to me what to do in certain situations.
"Bernard played at the highest level in Europe and he mentors me a lot from what he learnt, which is fantastic.
"Otherwise, I look at all types of strikers – each has his own strength to learn from. The best examples to watch at the moment are, of course, Barcelona’s Luis Suárez and Tottenham Hotspurs’ Harry Kane. They are unbelievable.
"There is still a long road to go. I just need to continue to work hard and stay focused."
Meanwhile, the Pietermaritzburg-born star added he was looking to set new standards in the goal-scoring stakes at Naturena, saying: "I definitely want to win trophies with Kaizer Chiefs. The goalscorer record at Kaizer Chiefs is in the hands of Marks Maponyane with 85. That’s something I look at to beat."
Chiefs next welcome Golden Arrows to the FNB Stadium in a round of 32 Nedbank Cup clash on Sunday.
Kick-off is at 15:30.
