Moleko talks up healthy Chiefs competition

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs defender Kgotso Moleko insists that the battle for a place in the starting line-up between the players can only strengthen the team.

Moleko himself is competing with teammates Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Sibusiso Khumalo for the right-back position in Steve Komphela's starting XI.

Amakhosi have bounced back from their stuttering start to the season and are now top of the table after three wins, one draw and one loss.

Chiefs will resume their campaign against Ajax Cape Town at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

"There will always be competition in any team and with Chiefs the competition is good for the team," Moleko told Soccer Laduma.

"You have seen how we have played in the last three games before the break and that's because the competition amongst the players is good and hence the performance in the team. We are all happy with the competition amongst the players."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
