Cape Town - Rulani Mokwena admits Orlando Pirates have lacked consistency this season and should be higher in the Absa Premiership standings.
The Buccaneers are yet to win back-to-back games this season but a 3-2 win over Polokwane City on Tuesday lifted them up to seventh position on the table and could be the turnaround they were looking for.
Although Mokwena is aware of his side's inconsistent performances this term, he also pointed out that most South African teams struggle to maintain a high standard across an entire season.
"We're looking for more consistency. I think generally in SA football (there's no consistency)," said Mokwena, as quoted by SowetanLive.
"I mean if you look at us where we're standing now‚ we're seventh‚ but we're three points off third position.
"We know we can have a better season. We should be having a better season.
"But the reality also is that I don't think there's a consistent team in the PSL at the moment."
Pirates will take on Baroka FC at Peter Mokaba Stadium on December 7 for their next Absa Premiership clash.
Kick-off is at 15:30.
