Mokwena having sleepless nights at Buccanneers helm

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Rulani Mokwena admits that the stress that comes with managing a club of the Buccanneers' stature is giving him sleepless nights.

Mokwena has had to fill the big shoes left behind by Milutin Sredojevic and has only managed one win in eight games since taking the reins.

And the pressure appears to be getting to the 32-year-old, who says he will 'rest when he is six feet under'.

"When you are in an institution like Orlando Pirates, you are there to serve. Sleep comes only after work has been done," said Mokwena.

"There are still a lot of sleepless nights, particularly also because the competition has been strengthened with most of our players coming back from injuries. We are in a position where we are stronger.

"Ours is to serve this great institution and make sure we get the team in a competitive state. I will only rest when I am six feet underground and this club has reached the pinnacle and pleased millions of supporters, because that is what they deserve."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
