Mokoena backs Pienaar's potential Bucs move

Cape Town - Former Bafana Bafana captain Aaron Mokoena believes Steven Pienaar would be a good signing for Orlando Pirates.

Pienaar is a free agent after parting ways with Premier League club Everton at the end of last season.

The 35-year-old playmaker added fuel to the speculation after declaring that his preference would be Pirates, should he opt to return to the country.

"If it is confirmed, it will be good to have such a talent of his calibre in South Africa," Mokoena told Soccer Laduma.

"I also don't think it will be difficult to adapt, because he played in South Africa before he moved abroad.

"Of course, working with a coach that has international experience will help. So I wish him the best of luck."
