Mogapi parts ways with Celtic

Cape Town - Bloemfontein Celtic have confirmed the departure of Tumelo Mogapi after his contract was terminated by mutual consent.

The 27-year-old had entered the final six months of his deal at the Free State Stadium and only featured once under new Phunya Sele Sele coach Serame Letsoaka.

His ninth and final appearance for Celtic this season came in Letsoaka's first game at the helm - a 2-1 defeat at Chippa United on December 18.

A club official claimed Mogapi is set to sign for Premiership rivals Maritzburg United, who have reportedly reached an agreement in principle with the defender.

"He has been released," the official told KickOff. "He is going to Maritzburg United. I think it's better you call them."
